This is one of  the  very nice Luftwaffe Bayonet Knots, Troddeln (Faustreimen) that came from the George Peterson collection and is featured in the book "Edged Weapon Accouterments of Germany" 1800-1945 by Heinrich kreutz, Rolf Hofman, Thomas M. Johnson and J. Rex Reddick.( a highly recommended book)   
 I really hate to see these go!
